Opportunities to serve
As someone once said, “It takes a lot of hard work to make it look easy.” At Anchor
Point, the goal of our ministries is to be transparent, so that our work is not an end
unto itself but a way to utilize our gifts to meet real needs.
If you are looking for a way to get involved and make a real difference, you’ve found it.
Right now, there are lots of ways to be part of the team! Look over the lists below, find
something that seems interesting and do-able, and contact Julie for more information!
If you're not sure what to do, pray, pick anything, and try it. Serving in a few areas on
a trial basis will help you sort through what you are and aren't gifted for, and over time
you'll find your niche. Meanwhile, you'll be making a huge difference in someone's life!

Sunday morning team openings
|
- nursery worker—Do you have a heart for little ones? Can you play with them and pray over them?
COMMITMENT OPTIONS: Serve one or more services a month. Contact Julie.
- kids' church worker—Whether you want to be a teacher or an aide, we have a place for you if you
love children! This opportunity is for 2nd service only. COMMITMENT OPTIONS: Serve one or more
services a month. Contact Julie.
- check-in & -out worker—Check kids into Kids' Church before 2nd service, 10:25-10:55. At the end
of the service, return to check out all the kids for about 15 minutes. This is super easy--you don't
even miss much of the service!--but it's so important for providing safety to our children.
COMMITMENT OPTIONS: Serve one or more Sundays a month. Contact Julie.
- coffee bar worker—Do you like to greet people with a smile and make them feel at home, but more
by service than with words? This is the spot for you! Serve once a month making coffee, both basic
and specialty. Now who wouldn't like to be trained in on those espresso machines? Contact Wendy.
- connection center worker—Do you like to help connect people to people or people to
opportunities? When someone wants to know what small groups are available or who to talk to about
joining kids' ministry, you could help make the right connection. COMMITMENT: Serve one or more
services a month. Contact Peter.
- greeter—Do you like to smile and say hello in a friendly way? Can you get to church 30 minutes
early and say hello to people until 15 minutes into the service? This role may be just perfect for you!
We'll train you, of course, and tell you everything you need to know. COMMITMENT: Serve one or
more services a month. Contact Keith.
- sound board operator—Do you have a great musical ear, flexibility, and a willingness to learn
something new? Are you comfortable with making last minute changes? We'd love to talk with you
about operating the sound board! COMMITMENT: Serve once or twice a month, covering both
services on the Sunday you're on. Contact Nathanael.
- worship slideshow operator—Are you comfortable with computers, learning new tasks, and
making last-minute changes? Come join our team! COMMITMENT: Serve once a month, covering
both services the Sunday you're on. Contact Patrick.
- musician/vocalist—Interested in using your musical talents to help lead worship? Apply today!
- kids' church/nursery scheduler—This job could be done entirely from your home! A couple
times a year, you'd put together a new schedule for the following four months. Contact Julie.
- life group leader—Perhaps you're a teacher at heart. Perhaps you are more of a facilitator.
Perhaps you just love hosting people in your home. In any circumstance, you want to pull people
together to build relationships, serve the city, and grow in God. This role carries significant
responsibilities, to be sure, but if God's prompting you to step up, then it's time to talk with Peter.
- youth group helper—Do you have a heart to see young people grow in their faith and become
infectious with God's love? Do you enjoy hanging out with teens? If you can say yes to both of these
questions, we want you! COMMITMENT: Wednesday evenings if you want to work with middle
schoolers, or Thursday evenings if your kinship is with senior highers. Contact Lindee.
- bulletin folder—What could be easier than folding and stuffing bulletins? On Friday afternoons or
anytime on Saturday, fold and stuff bulletins--bring a friend and spend the time chatting.
COMMITMENT: Every other week. Contact Julie.
- office volunteer—Do you like answering phones and doing routine computer tasks? Are you
comfortable learning a new computer skill? Are you detail oriented? If so, Julie can train you!
COMMITMENT: Every week, 1-4 hours. Contact Julie.
- clean—Do you have cleaning talents that you can offer as your spiritual act of service? Every week
our new building will need cleaning, and you may be just the person to take it on. COMMITMENT
OPTIONS: Serve once a month with someone else! Contact Julie.
- mow—Want to get a tan on our riding lawn mower while serving God? We'd love to see someone
take ownership of this task and keep our grounds looking neat so we can have a positive reputation
with our neighbors. COMMITMENT OPTIONS: Mow one week a month. Contact Julie.
- snowblow—Do you like to snowblow? Can you shoulder the awesome responsibility of keeping the
sidewalks clear of snow? COMMITMENT: Take on one week a month! Contact Julie.
