stone and put it under him, and he sat on it? Aaron and Hur held his hands up—
one on one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset.
Let's hold up Jeff and Michele in prayer all summer long so that thei
r strength may
be renewed and the enemy is unable to steal anything from this sabbath time
. May
God water every dry place in their hearts and give them fresh vision for our body.
The God of this City
Let's pray this song, okay? Okay! Just do it!
You're the God of this City.
You're the King of these people.
You're the Lord of this nation, You are!
You're the Light in this darkness.
You're the Hope to the hopeless.
You're the Peace to the restless. You are!
There is no one like our God!
For greater things have yet to come,
And greater things are still to be done in this City.
Greater things have yet to come,
And greater things are still to be done here!
We All Come from a Family
Some of us come from great families, some
from terrible. Regardless, almost everyone
would agree that family is the building block of
a community, heavily influencing the social
character and personality of its society. Family
ought to be what first and best teaches us
love, compassion, ethics, honesty, fairness,
common sense, reason, peaceful conflict
resolution, and respect--those fundamental
skills and values vital for healthy community.
However, family conflict hits us all:  sibling
rivalry, marital spats, parent-child tension.
Let's pray to resolve conflict and create truly
harmonious families so that our families will be
salt and light in our community that the world
may know Jesus by our love.
Where is Jeff?
Jeff and Michele are taking a much needed sabbatical this
summer.  Let's pray for them during this time, that:
  • God uses this summer to refresh them,
  • they are able to relax and find secluded times/places
to listen to the Holy Spirit,
  • Jeff, Michele, and Jesus would have awesome times
    hanging out together,
  • fresh trust would be built up, and
  • their hearts would be healed, empowered, renewed,
    and softened.
Remember when Moses' hands grew tired, his friends took a
"Why are you sleeping?" Jesus asked
the disciples. "Get up and pray  so that
you will not fall into temptation." Prayer
was everything to Jesus; he was in
constant communion with the Father.
Prayer was David's first line of defense. He prayed, "O LORD, I call to you; come quickly
to me. Hear my voice when I call to you. May my prayer be set before you like incense;
may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice" (Psalm 141:1-2).  Whatever
we need—help, protection, power, courage, direction—prayer is our way of connecting
with God, the source of everything. And whether we are thankful or hungry, joyful or
depressed, anxious or peaceful, prayer is the means by which we praise Jesus for it all.
